Weird, I thought I recognized you from there. I made the mistake of going into the Chapel one day, I was shocked by what looked like a bunch of pharisee talk to me. I never attacked a person, just questioned an idea and they put me in time out for it. That kind of goes against their own often stated ground rules, it just didn't sit right with me so I checked out and haven't been back since. Too bad, I was meaning to pay for membership there, I might still for past valuable use of the site, but yeah, something happened.

Someone posted how they could get more than one intro offer per person by having friends and spouses order for them... They called it "stealing" and said the entire forum had to go because of it. :rolleyes:

I had been a member for a few yrs and maybe made 1 post.

Hey you guys! The "story" I got from one of the mods(sharpskill) was that frugals was hacked in to around 4/1 with porn and skinhead stuff. My guess is they used the PM forum to do it in.Hmm, re-read the above posts, gee, I think I was lied to. Is that true Sharpie?

My getting that far got me a 30 day time out which I emailed John and suggested he read his bible again don't worry about the 30 days I'm gone.

Frugals is being run by the mods at this point, if you say something they don't like you get deleated(now stop me if anyone has seen or heard of any of this before) so what was once was a cutting edge, in your face forum is now full of "yes men" waiting for the next words from up high.

Do you guys remember the "Crazy Eights" bomb scare posted by john? Now don't you think that if it were real the Feds would have roasted john to find out his source?....nothing.............

As I have said before, the nut tree has 1 maybe 2 years left before the end. Lots of people are leaving and lots of people are wondering why are they still there. General Mao will need to purge a few more times before he feels safe.

Frugals has gone thru some interesting changes lately.
Post Y2k I finally got internet service and discovered that site. It was encouraging to find so many like minded folks and I learned a thing or 2 plus shared my knowledge.
I never visited the Christian forums at Frugals because my sentiments were that it is just as easy to be a keyboard Christian as a keyboard commando.

The one thing that seems to have ended is page after page of no win arguements...that got old and was a waste of bandwidth.

I'll agree that there are a lot more yes men, however it's John's site and his nickel.

Hi Brewer, I think the web site was supported by selling CD's and stuff. I think that soon it will become a total pay site(suckersssss) but he did have sponsers, other than just the kindness of his heart.

You're right stimpy, Frugals also had a paid membership for an exclusive members only forum.

Never been on Frugals. Looks like it may have been a good forum at some point. Some of you may enjoy this site: www.homesteadingtoday.com Some of you may already know about it. I use to lurk (and post occasionally) there but GIM has sucked up most of my time for the past 6 months.

To be honest with you I don't know nor do I care but what ever the price it doesn't give anyone a good enough reason to treat honest, hard working,like minded folk badly.

I'd be mighty suspicious of that explanation considering my thread asking about it was closed and he (John) tried to avoid answering the questions over it.

Frankly, if there was a thread where he thought people were "stealing" he could of deleted what he found "bad" and made a little announcement/sticky about it. Not hard to do. Instead the forum gets deleted. Kinda irritated me: it was a nice part of that site.

But that's okay, I found this board (somehow? Not sure how I came across it today while looking for Coleman lamp parts on google).

Well the important thing is we're out of the wh0re house and in a place of respect and truth for it's members. What really happended? No idea and as each day that passes I care less and less. Sad really. I wrote my first story there, tried to be a peace maker more than once and cared for the sick members.I tried to be a nice guy- I just hate to be lied to.

Yeah, I was over there from '99 til a few months ago. There was some kind of conflict between John and somebody, I don't recall the specifics. I posted a "aww, y'all are too worried about simple stuff, both need to take a step back and smell the coffee" type response, and got the response moved to "thread hell", got a short email- a request to not add fuel to the fire.

My post was dead on right.

Head cheese got offended because I had the nerve to call him and the other nut on responses in that thread... He later acted like he understood my intent, deleted the bad post from thread hell, and not another word was spoken. (No apology) 900 posts without so much as a warning, and the first time I cross head cheese, I get censored like a troll.

I'm not mad at anybody, that's his house. I just realize there's more to life than the above listed questions... (Which MBR, 9mm or .45, ect) and being dictated to. Plus, any post you make over there is declared racist and locked up tight... :boxing: I ain't no racist, but I got opinions on certain behaviors & cultures. Da Truf' is da Truf! Yo. :D
